After Hours: Artwork by State of Ohio Employees

Online submissions: August 12 – October 9, 2020

ABOUT

Ohio’s full-time public servants are invited to showcase their artistic talents outside the 9-to-5 in the Ohio Arts Council’s (OAC) Riffe Gallery juried exhibition After Hours: Artwork by State of Ohio Employees. Exhibition dates: April 29 –July 10, 2021.

After Hours is inspired by an exhibition the OAC Riffe Gallery produced in 1990, only a year after the gallery opened its doors. The exhibition displayed artwork utilizing various media made by Vern Riffe Center for Government and the Arts employees. In this third iteration, the exhibition will showcase creativity across the Buckeye state and is open to anyone employed full-time by the State of Ohio. Artists of all experience levels—professional, emerging, or amateur—are welcome to submit their artwork.

The exhibition’s esteemed juror is Ken Emerick, the OAC’s former director of artist programs and the Ohio Percent for Art Program.  With a 35-year tenure as a public servant for the State of Ohio, Emerick is well-appointed to select the artwork in a blind jury process. Selected works will be on display in the OAC Riffe Gallery, located in the Vern Riffe Center for Government and the Arts in downtown Columbus.
